366 (Notebook Paper Robot!)

I hadn't drawn anything on notebook paper in what felt like awhile.  I was stuck in a meeting for awhile today.  I have solved at least two problems since I woke up.

Christmas Ornament!

I made a Christmas Ornament, and it's for Sale on Etsy, even though it will kind of pain me to part with it.  It's made out of an old lamp for an old projector, and it is mega shiny.  Use that coupon code I mentioned earlier to save a few bucks on it if you do order it.

365 (Earthwatching)

Another painting for the kind soul who commissioned paintings of me.  Also, the 365th robot, which would mean something if I'd made it a year and a month and a week ago, but oops.

Shirts and Stuff (and Stuff)

I made a bunch of new Daily Robot shirts, featuring a logo you're no doubt familiar with at this point:

Also new are Mugs, Bags, and Stuff featuring the Sci-Fi Danger Awareness designs that I never get sick of talking about:

I'm inundating you with this information and glut of self-promotion because Printfection, the site that makes this happen, is offering free shipping on orders over $35.  Also, for the action movie devotee.

364 (Bot Friday)

Keep in mind that everything at the Daily Robot's Etsy store is 15% off when you use the coupon code BOTHOLIDAY10, also I hope nobody got trampled at a retail location.

Blah Blah Blah Holiday Season

Listen: I do not want to compete with the one zillion other people who are telling you, at this very moment, to go buy some products from them simply because tomorrow is Friday.  Getting heard over that din would be beyond impossible.  I do, however, want to let you know that starting now, and until the end of the calendar year, you can get 15% off anything at the Etsy store if you use the coupon code "BOTHOLIDAY10" when you check out.  I am aware that most of you will not be doing your holiday shopping on my etsy page, but if you do, don't pay retail.

362 (Carbon Steel Copies)

What? This looks exactly like that other robot from extremely recently.  I know - someone contacted me and commissioned a few robot paintings based on how much they liked the umbrella bot, so I figure'd I'd re-do it for them in a larger format.

360 (In Which Winter's Intentions Are Made Clearer)

The original plan was to have this finished and uploaded here yesterday, but a crippling headache got in the way.  It turned out to be a kind of blessing though, as earlier today I flew to Ohio for Thanksgiving, and was forced to complete this robot using only some (at least 6 year-old) acrylic paint and terrible brushes I found in my closet, as opposed to the ink and passable brushes I have at my Primary Residence.  It is, as you have likely gathered, the sequel to that idyllic little moment from a few days ago.  I'd say this painting is up for grabs, but really, I'd be surprised if anybody wanted it.  Just in case though...

359 (Prelude to a Terrible Season, a The Beginning of a "Postcards From The Daily Robot" Series)

I thought, as I got ready to do this blog post, about how rarely I bestow overlong, self-important and/or pretentious titles on my work - which is a shame - since I think that my blog should have more in common with music I hate than it currently does, you know?

Anyway, it's almost gotten Cold here, and it won't get UnCold for awhile once it has.  Maybe you can have this postcard as a reminder of the powdery silver lining to this Season, but it won't be available until someone takes the previous postcard.

Also, if you're a tumblr user, please follow us around on that website - we have so few followers it is silly.

Quick Update

That little painting from a couple of days ago (this thing, here) is for sale on etsy.  it costs $6.00, but if you use the coupon code you can find on the facebook page it will cost less than $6.00 (this is due to math).

358 (Just some Robots)

Yup, just some robots here today or whatever.  Did you see that coupon for discounted robot stuff at the Etsy Store I mentioned on Facebook?

357 (A Touch of Class - postcards from The Daily Robot)

So that postcard from a couple days ago sold, but after it did I was contacted by a woman who asked if I could make more like it (what, specifically, she meant by 'like it' is as yet unknown to me).  I think, however, that this is probably a good start, so hopefully I will hear back from her and she will want to purchase it from me.  If that doesn't happen I'll probably wind up throwing it onto Etsy.  You know how it goes.

A quick note: Holiday Cards

I found 3 Daily Robot holiday cards, from the series I made last year.  I'm not going to make any more of this design (or any of the old ones) ever so if you like the look of these you can get them from Etsy.  Hopefully I will get it in gear and make some new cards in the next week before it becomes too late to justify.

356 (Keeping Dry - postcards from The Daily Robot)

I think I said - either to myself or in writing or out loud - that once that last painted postcard sold I'd do another one.  Well, it did, a week or so ago.  So now here's this - ink on watercolor paper in postcard form.  It's for sale too, same price as the last one - five bucks.

355 (Back to Basics)

I feel like it's been forever since I've just drawn a robot, on paper, with a pen, and then not done anything to it.  So I did that.  It's kind of grisly, but I watched a Re-Animator tonight, so you know how it goes.

New Posters!

Hey guys, just a quick note to let you know that I made some new posters, and they're up at the Etsy Store.  If you like them, there's even a 3-pack that costs less than buying them individually - it ships for free too!  I'm really proud of these, so I hope you'll take a look, and maybe even share them with people you know to have good taste in Stuff.

354 (Sand Crawlers)

This isn't quite done, and it didn't get done on time.  Trying my best here.

353 (HEADSHOT)

So, looks like I'm doing another one of these robots that take forever and require me to split over two days.

352 (Post Birthday Fallout)

Oh, hello.   Yesterday was my birthday, but you knew that.  I got some stuff, and also ate some cake.  One thing I got was an Amazon Kindle.  The first thing I did was put some books on it.  The second thing I did was hack it so that I could give it custom screensavers.  The third thing I did was blog about it.

All that stuff I discounted at the store is still discounted, because I haven't gotten around to updating the prices.  So, hurry if you must.

It Is My Birthday.

I am not huge on birthdays - mine or other people's - but I figure that other people are.  If you're inclined to gift-giving and gift-receiving, then check out my Etsy shop, where I am having a birthday sale.  Lots of stuff is cheaper than it usually is, and anyone who orders something from me this weekend will definitely get special extra cool-stuff thrown into the box that ultimately makes its way to their doorstep.  Thanks for reading this website, and this selfish birthday post.

351 (Casabotca)

Remember back when I did some request robots?  I did not get anywhere close to finishing all of them, and I said stuff like "I will get to these, honest."  Then, for a week or more, I didn't.  Well, here is one, happening right now, tonight.  My man Muffin requested a Casablanca robot.  Casablanca is a little-known production from the 40's or something, I think it was a movie first, and then a TV show, but the finale was a TV movie that Alan Alda co-wrote*.  Whatever, anyway:

*The joke here is that I'm mixing M*A*S*H and Casablanca up.

350 (Under the Sea)

Wow, this took Forever.  Now it's done, as you can see below.

Maybe this, along with the green one from earlier this week will become posters like the red one did (there are only 2 left, by the way), but if you hate posters (or, like me, are out of wall space) they exist as greeting cards, and they came out very nicely.  The red and green ones also work as Christmas cards (and the blue one would works as a winter/Hanukkah card, though I realize that's a bit of a stretch).

349 (Heads Again)

This one's another two-parter, since these take so long to make.  Tune in tomorrow for the whole thing

348 (Back to Nature)

Here's the (almost, basically, really - just one more thing) finished robot that I previewed yesterday.  It is officially (I am the official in this instance) the second part of a series which began with this robot and will continue until I use up all the colors I like.  It will probably turn into a poster when it's been really for-real completed.  I'm also thinking of making such as greeting cards from these robots - what do you think? Does this make sense?

347 (Heads)

Here's the beginning of another detailed, monochromatic affair, since I really enjoyed making the last one.  Sorry for being so unreliable lately.  Getting back into the saddle now, in time for National Mandatory Novel Writing Month.  Any ideas?
